Small Grants
The U.S. Mission to Uganda's Small Grants Program consists of three small-scale development funds to assist and encourage communities to develop initiatives aimed at broadening civil society, improving basic socioeconomic conditions, and decreasing the impact of HIV/AIDS.
The Community Grants Program to Combat HIV/AIDS seeks to assist communities and grass root organizations with small-scale development projects to provide care and support to people living with HIV/AIDS and orphans and vulnerable children.
The Ambassador’s Special Self-Help Fund provides funding to help community-based organizations launch small-scale sustainable development projects for income generation and quality of life improvements.
The Democracy and Human Rights Fund provides funding for small-scale projects led by civil society leaders, non-governmental or community-based organizations, or groups that promote political pluralism and protect and advance human rights (NO FUNDING IS AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME FOR DHRF)
Together, these programs provide assistance in building a healthier and more productive society, achieving more accountable governance, and generating broad economic opportunities in Uganda.
